The team

Our national Corporate team, which in 2015 was ranked joint first for volume of corporate deals in the UK and fifth in Europe, is led by a team of partners widely regarded as leaders in their field and who are regularly recommended by clients for their reputation, personalities and outstanding expertise.

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Corporate PSL team, providing technical knowledge support for our busy Corporate team and, in particular, for our private equity lawyers.  The ideal candidate will be a Corporate lawyer with experience in private equity transactions and who has contributed to precedent development or document automation projects.

Working as part of a team of experienced professional support lawyers, your main responsibilities will primarily involve (but not be limited to):

  • Developing and maintaining precedents, associated guidance and supporting materials for use in a wide range of corporate transactions.
  • Developing automated precedents and documentation suites using existing and new documentation.
  • Supporting our corporate transaction lawyers in carrying out research and answering technical legal queries.
  • Drafting legal updates.
  • Delivering elements of the Corporate training programme.
  • Supporting the Corporate team, encouraging the sharing of knowledge and the use of knowledge resources.
Skills and qualifications
  • Corporate lawyer with 4+ years PQE working in a transactional or professional support / knowledge role.  Experience in private equity transactions would be ideal.
  • A strong interest in document automation is essential.  Experience in document automation would be ideal, but training can be provided. 
  • Excellent technical, drafting and research skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of legal business with a strong focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Team-player who can work with a friendly and supportive team.

We offer a competitive salary and flexible hours.  Ideally the role will be full time but we invite applications from candidates who seek are seeking a part time position.
