The team

Our top-ranking Commercial Group “epitomises professionalism – they are just what in-house counsel require – very experienced; intelligent, commercially minded; and supreme negotiators” (The Legal 500). From contracts for e-business to major outsourcing projects, and whether relating to purchasing, production, marketing, selling, infrastructure or technology, our lawyers understand the need to be both commercial and apply the law in real life situations in partnering our clients to achieve their commercial objectives.

The team works across a number of sectors with a particular focus on automotive, retail / FMCG, tech, and life sciences and is regularly involved in cutting edge commercial contract and tech projects. We have a truly amazing client base – we mostly act for global brands and FTSE 100/250 corporates – and you will get involved in supporting these clients from day 1.  Much of the work that we do is of an international nature. We work very closely with our clients and are often viewed as an extension of their businesses.

As a firm we place a lot of belief in culture and community, and genuinely believe we have something different to offer you at Shoosmiths.   This is reflected in everything we say and do from our use of technology to enable effective cross-office working, to the team spirit and culture and our commitment to environmental responsibility and social mobility. If you have any queries about working at Shoosmiths or this role – we’d be delighted to have a discussion in confidence so please contact Jonathan Warmington in our Talent Acquisition Team (jonathan.warmington@shoosmiths.co.uk).

We are a values-driven business – our values are at the core of the firm and we evaluate how we behave in accordance with these values through a competency framework.
