The role

Providing full PA and secretarial support to the Partners and Legal Advisors within the Dispute Resolution and Litigation team and, where required, cover any secretarial absences within the team where necessary. This role requires proactive thinking to support the needs of the Legal Advisor. This position is ideal for individuals aspiring to pursue a career as a Legal Personal Assistant.

Main responsibilities
  • Scanning correspondence and documents
  • Typing correspondence and formatting documents
  • File management (e-filing and hard copy filing)
  • Conflict checks
  • Opening new clients and matters and creating letters of engagement
  • Supporting with events – managing room bookings and catering requests
  • Diary management
  • Answering the telephone
  • Audio typing (not essential)
  • Financial hygiene
  • Raising invoices
  • Writing off and/or transferring time
  • Closing files
  • Assisting with various other tasks, as required.
Skills and qualifications
  • Have at least 12 months’ legal administrative/secretarial experience ideally within a national law firm or a large corporate organisation.
  • Ability to maintain high standards whilst carrying out day to day tasks
  • Great organisational skills
  • Good attention to detail and comfortable with numbers
  • Good keyboard skills and knowledge of various applications, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
