We are looking for a Senior Associate or Principal Associate to join our Business Crime & Regulatory (BC&R) team working closely with specialist Partners in this field.
This role is well suited to an experienced regulatory lawyer (circa 5 yrs PQE+) with experience across the areas of Health & Safety, Environmental, Food Safety, Inquests and Product Liability/recall. Our team covers a mix of contentious and non-contentious matters but for this role, you will need to have demonstrable experience in contentious work. We are looking for a candidate with a thorough grounding and proven technical ability. Given the varied case load and large-scale projects we run in this team, you will need to have well-developed project management and prioritisation skills. We are open to where you’ve honed your practice and in addition to private practice, we would be delighted to hear from Barristers with experience in this field or those in-house who are interested in making a move in to practice.
Ours is a friendly, collaborative team and we are keen to hear from candidates who can work autonomously with support. We work along national lines and the BC&R team is based across Birmingham, Milton Keynes and the Thames Valley so we have flexibility to recruit in to any of these locations and others in our office network.
We place a lot of store in culture and community, and genuinely think we have something different to offer you at Shoosmiths. This is reflected in everything we say and do from our use of technology to enable effective cross-office working, to our team spirit and culture. We strive to create an inclusive and supportive work place where employees can be themselves at work. We are proud of our active employee networks, the establishment of our Shadow Board and initiatives such as reciprocal mentoring and inclusive leadership training to bring diverse perspectives and recommendations to our leadership team and the firm as a whole.
